F52985 fault in Siemens V70 Drive indicates the Absolute encoder motor is wrong. This means the motor’s internally programmed ID is incorrect or not supported by the current drive software version.
Cause:

  • Motor ID is downloaded wrong during manufacture.
  • The software of the servo drive does not support the Motor ID.

Remedy:

  • Update the software.
  • Use a correct absolute encoder motor.
