Cause : Overspeed comes when motor is turning faster than highest allowed speed due to incorrectly set minimum maximum speed, insufficient braking torque or changes in load when using torque reference.

The fault code 7310 in your ABB ACS880 drive indicates an overspeed fault. This means the motor controlled by the drive is exceeding its set speed limit or the drive's maximum speed limit.

  1. Check minimum/maximum speed settings, parameters 30.11 Minimum speed, 30.12 Maximum speed and 31.30 Overspeed trip margin.
  2. Check adequacy of motor braking torque.
  3. Check applicability of torque control.
