Cause : IGBT overload comes when excessive IGBT junction to case temperature due to the motor connected to the drive might be exceeding its rated capacity, causing the IGBTs to overload.

An AE04 fault code in your ABB ACS880 drive indicates an IGBT overload. IGBTs (Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistors) are the power semiconductors responsible for switching current in the drive. This fault signifies that the IGBTs are experiencing excessive overload conditions.

  1. Check supply cable.
  2. Check Cooling System.
  3. Inspect Motor Cable.
