Cause : PU board powerfail comes when power unit power supply failure due to hardware issue in drive power card.

An AE1A fault code in your ABB ACS880 drive indicates a power unit power supply failure. This means the internal power supply unit (PSU) within the drive has malfunctioned and is no longer providing the necessary voltage to operate the drive's control circuits and power section.

Understanding the Power Unit Power Supply:

The ABB ACS880 drive relies on a power supply unit (PSU) to convert incoming mains power into the DC voltages required for its internal circuits and ultimately for controlling the motor.

Causes of AE1A Fault:

  • Internal PSU Malfunction: This is the most likely cause of the AE1A fault. Components within the PSU itself might have failed due to various factors like overheating, aging, or power surges.
  • Loose Connection (Less Likely): In rare cases, a loose connection within the PSU's internal wiring could disrupt power delivery and trigger the fault.
