Cause : Local command loss comes when communication fault with DCS800 Control Panel, DriveWindow or DriveWindow Light during local mode. This means that the drive has lost communication with the local control panel, DriveWindow, or DriveWindow Light while in local control mode.

F546 Local command loss fault in ABB DCS800 drive indicates that the drive has lost the local control command input, which typically occurs when the drive is in Local mode but is no longer receiving expected inputs from the control panel or connected device. 

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check Physical Connections:
    • Inspect all cables and connectors for damage or loose connections.
    • Ensure the control panel is securely connected to the drive.
  2. Verify Communication Settings:
    • Check the communication parameters, such as baud rate, parity, and stop bits.
    • Ensure they match the settings on both the drive and the control panel.
  3. Restart the Drive and Control Panel:
    • Turn off and then on both the drive and the control panel.
    • This can sometimes resolve temporary communication issues.
  4. Check for Hardware Faults:
    • Visually inspect the control panel and drive for any signs of damage.
    • If possible, try replacing faulty components.
