Cause : tacho polarity comes when the polarity of the analog tacho respectively pulse encoder [depending on M1SpeedFbSell (50.03)] is checked against the EMF.

F553 tacho polarity fault in ABB DCS800 drive indicates a "Tacho Polarity Fault." This means that the polarity of the tachometer signal is incorrect, causing the drive to misinterpret the motor's speed and direction.

  1. Verify the correct connection of the tachometer signal wires to the drive's input terminals.
  2. Visually inspect the tachometer sensor for any signs of damage or physical defects.
  3. Check the tachometer parameter settings, including polarity, scaling, and input type.
  4. Use a multimeter to measure the voltage and waveform of the tachometer signal.
