F516 fault in ABB DCS880 drive indicates M1 field exciter communication. This means motor 1 field exciter loss of communication.
- Check the settings of 99.07 M1 used field exciter type and 70.12 Field exciter timeout.
- Check the auxiliary voltage for integrated and external field exciter.
- Check the DCSLink cable connections.
