Cause : Overcurrent error comes when the current flowing through the drive has exceeded the specified limit. The cause of this fault is the motor is overloaded or there is excessive friction in the mechanical system.

"alarm 14" in panasonic servo drive indicate "overcurrent" condition. This means the drive has detected an overcurrent condition, meaning the current flowing through the servo motor is higher than the specified threshold

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check the Mechanical Load:

    • Inspect the mechanical system for any jams, excessive friction, or overloading.
    • Ensure that the motor is not being asked to perform beyond its rated capacity.
  2. Inspect the Motor and Wiring:

    • Check the motor for any signs of damage or wear.
    • Inspect the wiring between the motor and drive for any loose connections or damage.
  3. Review Parameter Settings:

    • Verify that the servo drive parameters are correctly set according to the motor's specifications.
    • Check if any recent changes have been made to the settings that could have caused the issue.
  4. Test with Reduced Load:

    • If possible, run the motor with a reduced load to see if the overcurrent alarm persists. This can help isolate whether the issue is related to the load or the drive/motor itself.
  5. Check the Power Supply:

    • Ensure that the power supply to the drive is stable and within the specified voltage range.
    • Look for any signs of power spikes or drops that could cause overcurrent conditions.
