In Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), "coast to stop" refers to the gradual deceleration of the motor to a complete stop without using active braking methods. The VFD reduces the frequency and voltage applied to the motor, allowing it to coast to a stop naturally. It's often used to prevent abrupt stops, reducing wear and tear on the equipment.
