Cause : Overload of motor 1 comes when the first motor connected to the Fuji FRENIC-VG drive is drawing excessive current. This protective measure prevents damage to both the motor and the drive.
"0l1" fault in Fuji FRENIC-VG drive indicate "Overload of motor 1". This means that Motor 1 has been subjected to an excessive load, leading to an overload condition. This fault is typically triggered by the drive's overload protection feature, which monitors the motor's current and compares it against the motor's rated capacity.
Troubleshooting Steps:
-
Check the Load on the Motor:
- Inspect the mechanical load driven by Motor 1 to ensure it is within the motor's rated capacity.
- Look for any signs of mechanical binding, excessive friction, or jams in the connected equipment.
-
Monitor the Motor Current:
- Use the drive's monitoring features or an external ammeter to check the motor's current draw during operation.
- Compare the measured current against the motor's rated current. If the motor is drawing significantly more current, this indicates an overload condition.
-
Review and Adjust Drive Settings:
- Check the motor protection settings in the drive, including the current limit, thermal overload protection, and motor-rated current. Ensure these settings match the specifications of Motor 1.
- Adjust the settings if necessary to ensure the motor is properly protected without causing nuisance trips.
-
Inspect Cooling and Ventilation:
- Ensure that the motor is receiving adequate cooling. Check that cooling fans are working correctly and that ventilation paths are not blocked.
- If the motor is in a hot environment, consider improving ventilation or adding additional cooling measures.
-
Examine Motor Condition:
- If the motor is older or has been in service for a long time, inspect it for signs of wear or damage, such as worn bearings, insulation issues, or winding problems.
- Consider having the motor tested, serviced, or replaced if it shows signs of excessive wear or damage.
