dcf DC fuse disconnection fault in Fuji FRENIC-VG drive

Cause : DC fuse disconnection comes when the DC fuse connected to the input terminals P (+) and N (-) of drive blew. The cause of this fault is poor connections in the DC link circuit can lead to intermittent resistance.

"dcf" fault in Fuji FRENIC-VG drive indicate "DC fuse disconnection" error. This means the drive has detected an open or faulty DC fuse in its power circuit. This is a protective measure designed to prevent damage to the drive and connected equipment.

Possible Causes:

  1. Blown DC Fuse: The most common cause is a blown fuse in the DC circuit of the drive. This could be due to overcurrent, short circuits, or a surge in power.

  2. Loose or Faulty Connections: If the connections to the DC fuse are loose or corroded, it could cause the drive to register a fault.

  3. Internal Drive Fault: Sometimes, an internal fault within the drive itself, such as a fault in the power supply or control circuitry, can trigger this error.

  4. External Faults: External factors like a short circuit in the motor or connected equipment can cause the fuse to blow and trigger this fault.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check the DC Fuse: Inspect the DC fuse for any signs of damage or disconnection. If it's blown, replace it with the correct type and rating.

  2. Inspect Connections: Check the connections to the DC fuse and ensure they are tight and free of corrosion or damage.

  3. Measure Circuit Resistance: Measure the resistance of the circuit where the DC fuse is located. A short circuit could indicate a problem in the drive or connected equipment.

  4. Check for External Issues: If the fuse blows repeatedly after replacement, inspect the motor and connected components for faults that could be causing overcurrent or short circuits.
