err Mock alarm in Fuji FRENIC-VG drive

Cause : Mock alarm comes when a false or simulated alarm within a system due to system configuration issue, sensor issue or software error.

"err" alarm in Fuji FRENIC-VG drive indicate "Mock error". This means the drive has detected a mock or simulated alarm condition. This type of error is often used for diagnostic or testing purposes and may not represent a real fault or issue with the drive.

To reset this alarm press "Stop" and "FUN/PGR" keys were held down for more than 5 seconds.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Drive Mode:

    • Verify if the drive is in a test or simulation mode. If so, switch the drive back to its normal operating mode to clear the mock alarm.
  2. Review Configuration Settings:

    • Check the drive’s configuration settings related to alarms and diagnostics. Ensure that the settings are correct and not inadvertently set to generate mock alarms.
  3. Inspect Software and Firmware:

    • Ensure that the drive’s software and firmware are up-to-date. Update the firmware if necessary to fix any known issues that might cause mock alarms.
  4. Verify Sensors and Input Devices:

    • If applicable, check the sensors or input devices that are used to trigger alarms. Ensure they are functioning correctly and are properly configured.
  5. Consult the Fuji FRENIC-VG Manual:

    • Refer to the drive’s manual for specific information on the ERR Mock Alarm code. The manual may provide additional details on the conditions that trigger this alarm and how to address it.
  6. Perform a Reset:

    • Power cycle the drive by turning it off and then back on to clear the alarm and see if the problem persists.
