Hitachi drive error codes explained. Easy-to-understand guide for diagnosing and fixing common drive faults. Improve equipment uptime.
- E07 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Over-voltage protection comes when the drive internal main circuit DC voltage to reach or exceed the specified value.
- E83 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Positioning range error comes when the current position exceeds the position range specification, the inverter will shut off its output and display the error code.
- E81 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Excessive speed comes when the motor speed rises to “maximum frequency x overspeed error detection level” or more, the inverter will shut off its output and display the error code shown on the right.
- E80 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Encoder disconnection comes when the encoder wiring is disconnected, an encoder connection error is detected, the encoder fails, or an encoder that does not support line driver output is used, the inverter will shut off its output and display the error code shown on the right.
- E45 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Drive Programming instruction error / EzSQ instruction error comes when inverter found the command which cannot be executed.
- E44 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Drive Programming nesting count error / EzSQ nesting count error comes when subroutines, if-statement, or for-next loop are nested in more than eight layers.
- E22 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : CPU communication error comes when communication between two CPU fails, inverter trips and displays the error code.
- E43 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : EzSQ invalid instruction comes when the program stored in inverter memory has been destroyed, or the PRG terminal was turned on without a program downloaded to the inverter.
- E41 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Modbus communication error comes when “trip” is selected (C076=00) as a behavior in case of communication error, inverter trips when timeout happens.
- E40 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Operator connection comes when the connection between inverter and operator keypad failed, inverter trips and displays the error code.
- E38 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Low-speed overload protection comes when overload occurs during the motor operation at a very low speed, the inverter will detect the overload and shut off the inverter output.
- E37 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Safe Stop comes when Safe stop signal is given.
- E36 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Braking error comes when the inverter will trip if it cannot receive the braking confirmation signal within the Brake Wait Time for Confirmation after the output of the brake release signal.
- E35 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Thermistor comes when a thermistor is connected to terminals [5] and [L] and the inverter has sensed the temperature is too high, the inverter trips and turns OFF the output.
- E30 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Driver error comes when instantaneous overcurrent occurs the Inverter will shut off IGBT’s output to protect the main circuit element.
- E25 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Main circuit error comes when the inverter will trip if the power supply establishment is not recognized because of a malfunction due to noise or damage to the main circuit element.
- E08 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : EEPROM error comes when function code parameter writing error. This fault comes when hardware issue in control card of drive.
- E21 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Inverter thermal trip comes when the heatsink temperature reaches the overheat fault level. The drive will display "E21" and stop operation.
- E19 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Inverter thermal detection system error comes when the thermal sensor in the inverter module is not connected.
- E15 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Input over-voltage comes when the overvoltage limit value has been reached or high input supply voltage. Input over-voltage is caused by a large fluctuation in the grid load.
- E14 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Ground Fault comes when an ground fault overcurrent flows due to an earth fault that occurred on the inverter's output side (load side).
- E13 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Unattended Start Protection (USP) comes when the Unattended Start Protection (USP) is enabled, an error occurred when power is applied while a Run signal is present.
- E12 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : External trip comes when external fault at multi-function input terminal or faults comes from external control circuit.
- E11 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Current detection error comes when an error occurs in the internal current detection system, the inverter will shut off its output and display the error code.
- E09 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Under-voltage error comes when the power unit has detected an undervoltage condition in the DC link. When encountering a DC link voltage undervoltage error with a hitachi drive, it indicates that the voltage level in the DC link has dropped below the acceptable threshold.
- E01 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Over-current event while at constant speed comes when the abrupt fluctuations in the load or abnormal load conditions. The inverter output current exceeds the rated current during constant-speed operation, the protection circuit is activated and the inverter trips.
- E06 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Braking resistor overload protection comes when the BRD operation rate exceeds the setting of “parameter”, this protective function shuts off the inverter output and displays the error code.
- E05 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Overload protection comes when the output current exceeds the motor full load current set in parameter.
- E04 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Over-current event during other conditions comes when the drive detects that the current flowing through the motor exceeds the preset limits.
- E03 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Over-current event during acceleration comes when the drive detects that the current flowing through the motor exceeds the preset limits.
- E02 fault code in hitachi drive - Cause : Over-current event during deceleration comes when deceleration time too short, large load inertia or inverter power rating too small.
This is a comprehensive list of hitachi drive error codes. Quickly troubleshoot and resolve common issues.
