Cause : IGBT overheat comes when the IGBT heatsink temperature reaches the overheat fault level. When an IGBT overheats, it can lead to reduced performance, decreased efficiency, and even failure.

"Err14" fault in inovance MD310 drive indicate "IGBT overheat" condition. This means the drive is operating in an environment that is too hot.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Verify Drive Load:

    • Check the load on the drive: Ensure that it is within the drive's rated capacity.
    • Reduce the load if necessary: If the load is excessive, reduce it or adjust the drive settings to prevent overloading.
  2. Improve Cooling:

    • Inspect cooling fans: Ensure that the cooling fans are working properly and are not obstructed.
    • Clean the drive: Remove any dust or debris that might be blocking airflow.
    • Improve ventilation: If necessary, provide additional ventilation to the drive's location.
  3. Check Ambient Temperature:

    • Measure ambient temperature: Use a thermometer to measure the temperature around the drive.
    • Reduce ambient temperature if necessary: If the ambient temperature is too high, take steps to cool the area or relocate the drive.
  4. Review Drive Configuration:

    • Check current limit: Ensure that the current limit is set to a value that prevents the drive from overloading.
    • Verify other drive settings: Check for any other configuration errors that might be contributing to overheating.
