Cause : Contactor faulty comes when the contactor is faulty. This can prevent the drive from starting or operating correctly.

"Err17" fault in inovance MD290 drive indicate "Contactor faulty". This means a problem with the contactor used to control the power supply to the drive.

Common Causes

  • Contactor Failure: The contactor itself may have failed due to mechanical wear, electrical overload, or other issues.
  • Connection Issues: Loose or corroded connections to the contactor can disrupt its function.
  • Drive Internal Faults: A fault within the drive's internal circuitry can affect the contactor's operation.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Inspect the Contactor:

    • Visually inspect the contactor: Look for signs of physical damage, such as burns, pitting, or loose contacts.
    • Test the contactor: Use a multimeter to measure the resistance between the contacts when the contactor is closed. The resistance should be very low.
    • Replace the contactor if necessary: If the contactor is damaged or has high resistance, replace it with a new one of the correct specifications.
  2. Check Connections:

    • Inspect the connections: Ensure that the connections between the contactor and the drive, as well as the power supply, are tight and free of corrosion.
    • Clean the connections if necessary: If the connections are dirty or corroded, clean them with a contact cleaner.
  3. Verify Drive Internal Components:

    • Check for internal faults: If the contactor appears to be functioning correctly, there might be a fault within the drive's internal circuitry.
