Cause : Drive hardware fault comes when a problem with one or more of the drive's internal components. This can prevent the drive from operating correctly or cause erratic behavior.
"Err22" fault in inovance MD310 drive indicate "drive hardware issue". This means there is an hardware issue in drive power crad and control card.
Common Causes
- Power Supply Issues: Faulty power supply components, such as capacitors or rectifiers, can lead to drive hardware faults.
- IGBT Failures: IGBTs (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors) are critical components in drives. Failures in IGBTs can cause various issues, including overcurrent, overheating, and reduced performance.
- Control Circuit Faults: Faulty control circuits, such as microprocessors or gate drivers, can disrupt the drive's operation.
- Overheating: Excessive heat can damage drive components, leading to hardware faults.
Troubleshooting Steps
-
Check Power Supply:
- Inspect the power supply: Look for signs of physical damage, such as burns or discoloration.
- Measure the output voltage: Use a multimeter to measure the output voltage of the power supply and compare it to the specified value.
- Replace the power supply if necessary: If the power supply is damaged or not providing the correct voltage, replace it with a new one.
-
Verify IGBT Function:
- Use diagnostic tools: Employ a dedicated drive analyzer or oscilloscope to monitor the IGBTs' behavior.
- Check for excessive current or temperature: Look for signs of overheating or excessive current draw, which could indicate IGBT problems.
- Replace faulty IGBTs: If an IGBT is damaged or not functioning correctly, replace it with a new one.
-
Inspect Control Circuitry:
- Check for internal faults: Use diagnostic tools to examine the control circuitry for any signs of damage or malfunction.
-
Verify Cooling System:
- Inspect cooling fans: Ensure that the drive's cooling fans are working properly and not obstructed.
- Check for excessive heat: Monitor the drive's temperature to ensure it is within the specified operating range.
- Improve cooling if necessary: If the drive is overheating, take steps to improve its cooling, such as cleaning fans or increasing ventilation.
