Cause : Local parameter backup failure comes when an exception occurs during local parameter backup. Check whether the backed-up drive unit station numbers exceeds the quantity of drive units installed.

"E32.00" fault in inovance MD800 drive indicate "Local parameter backup failure". This means the drive was unable to successfully save or restore its configuration parameters to or from local memory.

Potential Causes

  1. EEPROM Issues:
    • EEPROM Corruption: The EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) where the parameters are stored might be corrupted.
    • EEPROM Failure: The EEPROM itself might be faulty or damaged.
  2. Power Supply Issues:
    • Intermittent power supply interruptions or voltage fluctuations can disrupt the backup process.
  3. Software Glitches:
    • Software bugs or errors in the drive's firmware can interfere with the backup operation.
  4. Configuration Errors:
    • Incorrectly configured backup parameters or settings.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check EEPROM Integrity:
    • Use diagnostic tools or software to check the integrity of the EEPROM. Look for any signs of corruption or errors.
    • If necessary, try replacing the EEPROM.
  2. Verify Power Supply:
    • Ensure that the power supply is stable and providing adequate voltage to the drive.
    • Check for any power interruptions or fluctuations.
  3. Review Software Configuration:
    • Verify that the backup parameters are configured correctly.
    • Check for any errors or inconsistencies in the backup settings.
  4. Update Firmware:
    • If available, update the drive's firmware to the latest version. This can sometimes resolve software-related issues.
  5. Try a Factory Reset:
    • As a last resort, try performing a factory reset on the drive to restore its default settings and see if that resolves the issue. Be aware that this will erase all user-defined configurations.
