Cause : Parameter EEPROM Fault comes when reading or writing of the non-volatile parameter storage has failed due to hardware issue in drive.
The F0051 fault code on a Siemens Micromaster 420 (MM420) indicates an EEPROM fault. The EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) stores the drive's parameters, and this fault means there has been a problem reading from or writing to the EEPROM.
Here are steps to diagnose and resolve this issue:
-
Power Cycle the Drive:
- Turn off the drive, wait for a few minutes, and then power it back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary issues with the EEPROM.
-
Check Parameter Settings:
- If the fault occurs after a parameter change, try reverting to the previous settings. Verify that all parameters are set correctly and within their valid ranges.
-
Perform a Factory Reset:
- Reset the drive to its factory default settings. This can clear any corrupted parameters stored in the EEPROM.
- To perform a factory reset, set parameter P0010 to 30 and P0970 to 1.
-
Reload Parameters:
- If you have saved a parameter set to a memory card or other storage device, try reloading the parameters to the drive after performing a factory reset.
