Cause : Measured resistance has exceeded the parameter range comes when the rS trip indicates that the measured stator resistance of the motor during an auto-tune test has exceeded the maximum possible value of Stator Resistance (05.017).

  1. If the measured value or a value written to this parameter by the user exceeds (VFS /√2) / Full Scale Current Kc (11.061).
  2. Ensure the stator resistance of the motor falls within the range of the drive model. The most likely cause of this trip is trying to measure a motor much smaller than the drive rating. Ratio’s of drive size to motor size of greater than 15:1 are likely to lead to a problem.
  3. Check that a value has not been entered in the stator resistance for the presently selected motor map that exceeds the allowed range.
  4. Check the motor cable / connections.
  5. Check the integrity of the motor stator winding using an insulation tester.
  6. Check the motor phase to phase resistance at the drive terminals.
  7. Check the motor phase to phase resistance at the motor terminals.
  8. Ensure the stator resistance of the motor falls within the range of the drive model.
  9. Select fixed boost mode (Pr 05.014 = Fd) and verify the output current waveforms with an oscilloscope.
  10. Replace the motor.
