Cause: INTERNAL DB RESISTOR comes when there is an hardware issue in drive power card. This fault comes when an issue with the internal Dynamic Braking (DB) resistor circuit
DBCT INT DB RESISTOR fault in Parker AC890 drive indicates internal Dynamic Braking (DB) resistor circuit error. This means the drive has detected a problem with the resistor that is used to dissipate energy during braking.
Troubleshooting Steps:
- Check Braking Requirements: Analyze the application's braking demands. Are there frequent or very rapid decelerations? The internal resistor has a limited energy dissipation capacity.
- Reduce Braking Duty: If the braking duty cycle is too high, you may need to reduce the frequency or severity of braking. Consider increasing deceleration ramp times or optimizing the motion profile.
- Possible Damage: The internal braking resistor itself might have failed due to excessive energy dissipation or a manufacturing defect.
- Check Drive Environment: Ensure the drive has adequate ventilation and is operating within its specified ambient temperature range. Insufficient cooling can lead to the internal resistor overheating.
