Cause : INTERNAL FAN FAIL comes when an internal cooling fan has failed. This will reduce the lifetime of the power electronics.
INTERNAL FAN FAIL fault in a Parker AC30 drive indicates a failure of the internal cooling fan. This can lead to overheating of the drive's components, potentially causing damage or reduced performance.
Common Causes of INTERNAL FAN FAIL Faults:
- Mechanical Failure: The fan motor or bearings may have failed.
- Blocked Airflow: Dust, debris, or other obstructions can prevent the fan from operating effectively.
- Electrical Issues: A short circuit or open circuit in the fan's wiring or control circuitry can cause it to fail.
- Drive Internal Issues: Faulty components within the drive itself can contribute to fan failures.
Troubleshooting Steps:
- Inspect the Fan:
- Visually inspect the fan for any signs of damage, wear, or obstructions.
- Check if the fan blades are rotating.
- Check for Blocked Airflow:
- Ensure that there are no obstructions blocking the airflow to or from the fan.
- Clean the fan and its surrounding area to remove any dust or debris.
- Test the Fan:
- If possible, use a multimeter to measure the voltage and current supplied to the fan.
- If the fan is receiving power but not rotating, it may be faulty.
