Cause : DC Over-Voltage comes when the DC bus voltage within the drive exceeds a predetermined limit. Over-voltage can be caused by various factors, such as regenerative energy from the motor, an unstable power supply, or incorrect drive settings.
O.E. fault in parker AC10 drive indicate DC Over-Voltage. This means the voltage on the DC bus exceeds the drive’s maximum allowable limit. This fault is a protective measure to prevent damage to the drive's internal components and the motor.
Steps to Troubleshoot and Resolve DC Over-Voltage Fault:
-
Check the Input Voltage:
- Measure the incoming AC supply voltage using a multimeter to ensure it is within the drive’s specified range.
- If the supply voltage is too high, it can lead to a higher-than-normal DC bus voltage. If this is the case, you may need to address the power supply issues or use a transformer to step down the voltage.
-
Regenerative Energy:
- Regenerative energy occurs when the motor decelerates or operates in a braking mode, causing energy to be fed back into the drive, which increases the DC bus voltage.
- If your application involves frequent or rapid deceleration, consider adding a braking resistor to the drive to dissipate the excess energy. This helps to prevent the DC bus voltage from rising too high.
-
Check Deceleration Ramp Time:
- Short deceleration times can cause the motor to generate excessive regenerative energy, leading to an over-voltage fault.
- Increase the deceleration ramp time in the drive’s settings to allow the motor to slow down more gradually, reducing the regenerative energy fed back into the drive.
-
Inspect DC Bus Components:
- Check the condition of the DC bus components, such as capacitors and connections, within the drive. Faulty or degraded capacitors can lead to voltage spikes on the DC bus.
- This inspection typically requires technical expertise, and if you suspect internal component failure, you may need to contact Parker's technical support for further assistance.
