Cause: RESOLVER ERROR comes when the drive is detecting an issue with the signals coming from the resolver. A resolver is a type of rotary transducer used to provide precise angular position information to the drive for closed-loop control.

RSLV RESOLVER ERROR fault in Parker AC890 drive indicates a problem with the resolver feedback signal used for motor position/speed control.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • Check Resolver Cable: Carefully inspect the cable connecting the resolver to the drive's feedback input terminals.
  • Loose Connections: Ensure all terminals are securely tightened at both the drive and the motor ends.
  • Incorrect Wiring: Verify that the wiring matches the pinout diagrams in both the AC890 drive manual and the motor/resolver datasheet.
  • Shielding: Ensure the resolver cable is properly shielded and that the shield is correctly grounded at the drive end (usually to a designated earth terminal). Noise on the resolver signals is a common cause of errors.
