Cause : Overheating comes when an issue with the robot's cooling system, which is crucial for maintaining the proper operating temperature of its components.

"heat sink error" in kuka robot indicates that the robot's internal temperature has exceeded a safe operating limit. This means cooling fans within the robot might be blocked by dust or debris, or they may have failed. This would reduce airflow and cause overheating.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check the Ambient Temperature: Ensure the robot is operating in an environment within the specified temperature range.

  2. Inspect and Clean Fans: Open the robot's housing and inspect the cooling fans. Clean them if necessary and ensure they are functioning correctly.

  3. Examine the Heat Sink: Verify that the heat sink is properly mounted and there is no visible damage. If possible, reapply thermal paste between the heat sink and the component.

  4. Check for Obstructions: Ensure that there are no obstructions around the robot's cooling vents.

  5. Monitor Temperature: Use diagnostic tools to monitor the robot's temperature sensors and verify if they are reading correctly.
