Cause: Empty Configuration comes when the selected configuration for the "Multimotors config" MMC- function has not been created previously.

"CFI4" Empty Configuration Fault in a Schneider ATV950 drive indicates that the drive has detected an empty or invalid configuration. This can happen if the configuration data is missing, corrupted, or not properly loaded. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the CFI4 fault:

1. Verify Configuration File:

  • File Presence: Ensure that the configuration file is present and not empty.
  • File Integrity: Check the configuration file for corruption. If possible, open the file using a compatible software tool (e.g., SoMove) to verify its contents.

2. Reload Configuration:

  • Retry Transfer: Attempt to reload the configuration file to the drive. Ensure the transfer process completes without interruption.
  • Alternative Source: If the configuration file is stored on a removable medium (e.g., USB stick), try using a different medium or source to transfer the configuration.

3. Check Configuration Device:

  • Device Functionality: Ensure that the device used to transfer the configuration (e.g., PC, USB stick, memory card) is working properly.
  • Cable Condition: Inspect the cables and connectors used for the transfer process for any signs of damage or wear.

4. Drive Firmware and Software:

  • Firmware Updates: Verify that the drive’s firmware is up-to-date. Update the firmware if necessary, as newer versions may resolve issues related to configuration handling.
  • Configuration Software: Use Schneider Electric’s configuration software tools (e.g., SoMove) to create and transfer the configuration. Ensure you are using the latest version of the software.

5. Factory Reset:

  • Reset Drive: Perform a factory reset to clear any existing, potentially corrupted configuration data. After resetting, attempt to load the configuration again.

6. Check Parameter Settings:

  • Default Parameters: Ensure the drive’s default parameters are correctly set to accept a new configuration. Incorrect settings may prevent the drive from accepting the configuration.
