Cause : Overspeed comes when the motor speed has exceeded the maximum allowable speed set in the drive parameters. This can be dangerous and may lead to mechanical or electrical damage if not addressed promptly.

"F025" fault in Schneider ATV310 drive indicate overspeed condition. This means the motor connected to the drive has exceeded its maximum allowable speed.

Possible Causes:

  1. Incorrect Speed Setpoints: The speed setpoints in the drive configuration might be set too high.
  2. External Speed Command: An external control signal may be commanding the motor to run at an excessive speed.
  3. Feedback Issues: Problems with speed feedback devices (e.g., encoders) can cause incorrect speed readings.
  4. Load Conditions: Changes in load conditions or mechanical issues can cause the motor to speed up unexpectedly.
  5. Drive Configuration Errors: Incorrect configuration of drive parameters related to speed control.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Speed Setpoints: Verify the maximum speed setpoint in the drive parameters and adjust if necessary.
  2. Inspect External Signals: Ensure that external control signals or devices are correctly configured and not causing excessive speed commands.
  3. Examine Feedback Devices: Check the integrity and accuracy of speed feedback devices like encoders or tachometers.
  4. Assess Load Conditions: Look for any changes in the mechanical load or system that could cause overspeed conditions.
  5. Review Drive Configuration: Ensure all speed control parameters are set correctly, including acceleration and deceleration ramps.
