Cause: Motor blocked comes when the motor is unable to rotate freely or is mechanically obstructed. The motor is facing excessive resistance and cannot rotate freely.
f7900 fault indicates motor blocked condition. This means the drive is trying to reach the set speed, but the motor is either not moving or the speed controller has saturated its output (reached the maximum allowed torque) without achieving the desired speed.
Troubleshooting Steps:
- Check for Mechanical Issues: Physically inspect the motor and the driven equipment for any obstructions, jams, or excessive load. Try to rotate the motor shaft manually (with power off and brake released if applicable).
- Verify Motor Wiring: Double-check the motor power cable connections to the drive.
- Review Motor Parameters: Ensure all motor parameters in the drive match the motor nameplate data.
- Increase Acceleration Time: Try increasing the acceleration ramp-up time to allow the motor more time to reach the desired speed.
