Cause : Inverter temperature comes when the temperature of the inverter section of the drive has exceeded the permissible limit. This fault is usually caused by excessive heat buildup within the drive, which can lead to potential damage if not addressed promptly.

The fault F023 in a Siemens Masterdrive indicates an inverter overtemperature condition. This means the inverter section of the drive, which converts DC power from the DC link to variable AC power for the motor, has exceeded its safe operating temperature limit.

  1. Measure the air intake and ambient temperature.
  2. Check the air entry and discharge openings are not restricted.
  3. Check temperature sensor at -X30.
