Cause : Overload I2t comes when the power unit was overloaded (r0036 = 100 %). Overload I2t is a protection feature commonly found in motor drives, including the Siemens SINAMICS G120 drive. It is designed to protect the motor from damage due to prolonged overload conditions by monitoring the square of the current (I^2) flowing through the motor over time (t).

When the integrated value of the square of the current exceeds a predefined threshold, the drive triggers an overload fault to prevent overheating and potential damage to the motor windings.

  1. the permissible rated power unit current was exceeded for an inadmissibly long time.
  2. the permissible load duty cycle was not maintained.

- reduce the continuous load.
- adapt the load duty cycle.
- check the motor and power unit rated currents.
- reduce the current limit (p0640).
- during operation with U/f characteristic: reduce the integral time of the current limiting controller (p1341).
