Cause : Maximum number of auto restart attempts exceeded comes when the inverter has attempted to restart automatically after encountering a fault condition several times, but it has failed to resume normal operation within the allowed number of attempts.

  • Auto restart attempts exceed value of P1211.
  • This situation often occurs as a protective measure to prevent further damage to the inverter or connected equipment.

Here's how you can address this issue:

  1. Identify the Root Cause: Determine the underlying cause of the fault that triggered the auto-restart attempts. Common reasons include overcurrent, overvoltage, overtemperature, short circuits, or other system faults. Review the inverter's manual or diagnostic logs for more information on the specific fault condition.

  2. Inspect Connections: Check all electrical connections and wiring associated with the inverter. Ensure that connections are secure, free from corrosion, and properly terminated. Loose or damaged connections can lead to intermittent faults.

  3. Review Operating Conditions: Evaluate the operating conditions of the inverter system, including load conditions, ambient temperature, and environmental factors. Ensure that the system is operating within the specified limits and that there are no abnormal conditions contributing to the fault.

  4. Check Cooling and Ventilation: Verify that the inverter is adequately cooled and ventilated to dissipate heat effectively. Overheating can lead to thermal shutdowns and repeated auto-restart attempts. Ensure that cooling fans are functioning correctly and that vents are clear of obstructions.

  5. Inspect External Components: If the inverter is connected to external devices such as motors or sensors, inspect these components for any signs of damage or malfunction. Faulty external components can trigger fault conditions in the inverter.

  6. Adjust Protection Settings: Review the protection settings of the inverter and adjust them as needed to optimize fault detection and response. Ensure that protection thresholds are set appropriately for the application and that they are not too sensitive or too lenient.

  7. Reset Faults: If possible, manually reset any active faults or alarms in the inverter. This may clear the fault condition and allow the inverter to restart successfully.
