Cause : Motor data identification failure comes when the inverter is unable to properly identify or configure the motor parameters required for operation. This issue commonly arises during the initial setup or when attempting to run the motor with the inverter. 

Motor data identification failed.

• r0949 = 0: No load applied
• r0949 = 1: Current limit level reached during identification.
• r0949 = 2: Identified stator resistance less than 0.1% or greater than 100%.
• r0949 = 30: Current controller at voltage limit
• r0949 = 40: Inconsistency of identified dataset, at least one identification failed

Percentage values based on the impedance Zb = Vmot,nom / sqrt(3) / Imot,nom

Check the following:

• r0949 = 0: is the motor connected to the inverter?
• r0949 = 1 - 49: are the motor data in P0304 - P0311 correct?
• Check what type of motor wiring is required (star, delta).

Here's how you can address this problem:

  1. Verify Motor Connection: Ensure that the motor is correctly connected to the inverter according to the manufacturer's instructions. Check the wiring connections and terminal assignments to confirm that they match the specifications provided in the inverter's manual.

  2. Check Motor Nameplate: Review the motor nameplate data to gather essential information such as rated voltage, current, power, speed, and frequency. Ensure that the nameplate data matches the settings configured in the inverter.

  3. Enter Motor Parameters Manually: If automatic motor data identification fails, you may need to enter the motor parameters manually into the inverter's settings. Input the relevant data, including rated voltage, current, power, speed, and any other required parameters, according to the motor nameplate information.

  4. Perform Auto-Tuning: Some inverters offer an auto-tuning function that automatically adjusts motor parameters based on feedback from the motor during operation. Initiate the auto-tuning procedure according to the manufacturer's instructions to optimize motor performance and efficiency.

  5. Check Communication: Ensure that there are no communication issues between the inverter and any connected devices, such as a control panel or programming device. Verify that the communication cables are securely connected and that the correct communication protocol and settings are configured.

  6. Inspect Inverter Settings: Review the inverter's configuration settings related to motor control and identification. Check parameters such as motor type, control mode, and motor identification method to ensure they are set correctly for your application.
