Cause : External fault comes when fault triggered via command input via control word 2, bit 13. When an inverter reports an "external fault," it typically means that the fault condition originates from an external source rather than a fault within the inverter itself.

  • This type of fault could be caused by various factors external to the inverter system.

Here's how to troubleshoot and address this issue:

  1. Check External Components: Inspect all external components connected to the inverter system, including motors, sensors, actuators, and control devices. Look for signs of damage, malfunction, or abnormal operation that could be causing the fault condition.

  2. Verify Power Supply: Ensure that the power supply to the inverter system is stable and within the specified voltage and frequency range. Voltage sags, surges, or fluctuations in the power supply can trigger external faults.

  3. Inspect Wiring and Connections: Verify that all wiring and connections between the inverter and external components are secure, properly terminated, and free from damage. Loose connections or damaged wiring can lead to intermittent faults.
