Cause : External Fault (input terminal S3) comes when external fault at multi-function input terminal S3. When an external device tripped an alarm function or wiring is incorrect or multi-function contact input setting is incorrect.
A Yaskawa V1000 drive displaying an EF3 fault code indicates an external fault detected at the multi-function input terminal S3. This means an external device connected to the drive has triggered an alarm or there's an issue with the wiring or configuration related to that terminal.
- Remove the cause of the external fault and reset the fault.
- Properly connect the signal lines to the terminals assigned for external fault detection.
- Reconnect the signal line.
- Change the terminal settings.
