Capacitance Ground fault in WEG CFW701 Drive

A Capacitance Ground Fault in WEG CFW701 Drive indicates a parasitic current leakage. This means extremely long motor cables are creating a high capacitance to ground, which trips the ground fault detection.

Cause:

Very long motor cables, with more than 100 m (328.08 ft), present a high parasitic capacitance to the ground. The circulation of a leakage current through this capacitance may cause the activation of the ground fault circuit, and consequently an F0074 trip immediately after the inverter enabling.

Remedy:

Reduce the switching frequency set in parameter P0297.
