Cause: DC link undervoltage comes when intermediate circuit DC voltage too low (when the drive is stopped). When this DC voltage falls below a certain threshold, the A3A2 warning is triggered to prevent the drive from tripping and to signal a problem with the power input.

A3A2 warning on an ABB ACS880 drive indicates DC link undervoltage. This means the DC bus voltage is too low for the drive to operate correctly.

Solution:

  1. Check the supply voltage setting (parameter 95.01 Supply voltage). Note that the wrong setting of the parameter may cause the motor to rush uncontrollably, or may overload the brake chopper or resistor.
  2. Check the supply voltage.
  3. Measure the incoming AC line voltage to the drive and compare it to the drive's rated voltage.
  4. Use a power quality meter to check for voltage spikes or sags
