Cause: Cooling comes when drive module temperature is excessive. This means the drive has detected that the cooling efficiency is reduced or that a cooling fan issue is present.
A4A9 warning in ABB ACS880 drive indicates a cooling issue or an excessive drive module temperature. This warning is triggered when the drive's internal temperature, specifically in the power module, exceeds a predetermined limit.
Solution:
- Check ambient temperature. If it exceeds 40 °C (104 °F), ensure that load current does not exceed derated load capacity of drive.
- Check drive module cooling air flow and fan operation.
- Check inside of cabinet and heatsink of drive module for dust pick-up. Clean whenever necessary.
